Matthew 24:12, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.”

In this verse, our Lord Jesus speaks of the challenges of maintaining love and compassion in a world filled with turmoil and moral decay.

It’s evident that Jesus recognized the corrosive effect of sin on the human heart. As wickedness spreads, it can corrupt our capacity for love, leading to apathy, indifference, or even hostility towards others. In today’s society, where headlines are often dominated by violence, injustice, and division, it’s easy to see how this prophecy remains relevant.

However, amidst the darkness, there is hope. By anchoring ourselves in the love of Christ and actively cultivating compassion and kindness, we can defy the trend of growing coldness. Through acts of love, mercy, and forgiveness, we can be beacons of light in a world desperately in need of warmth.

Galatians 6:9‭-‬10 says “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith”.

Matthew 24:12 serves as both a warning and a call to action. It reminds us to guard our hearts against the influences of evil and to actively nurture love in our lives and communities. As followers of Christ, let us strive to let His love shine through us, even in the face of increasing wickedness.

Praise God!!!

  2. Hope you are having a great day. Great post. Its crazy how accurate Jesus words can be. For some reason I can’t help but find relevance between a cold heart and a heart of stone. If the heart is cold enough, it will turn ice solid, which is what we are seeing today. People hate the idea of God and biblical principles, just like pharaoh. Blessings.

That’s why we need to preach the gospel relentlessly. Never to be tired. God’s word is our offensive weapon. We counter good for evil. Glory to God
